What we do.

Choose from private coaching or group classes, plus I also offer pet sitting and more.

I’m based in Nundah and love to work with locals! I’ll also travel to you in the Greater Brisbane area or arrange somewhere to meet. At times I run classes and workshops elsewhere in South-East Qld or North-Eastern NSW. Contact me to discuss options or hop on my mailing list here.

I recommend beginning with an Initial Consult so that I can assess your situation and best advise you on what package to choose. Lesson packages are designed to both make things more affordable than purchasing multiple single lessons, AND allow me to customise a better training plan for you.

If you are unsure or have questions, reach out via the contact page and I will be happy to chat!

FAQs

What dogs can attend group classes and do they need to be vaccinated?

For Puppy Preschool, only puppies under the age of 5 months can attend. Proof of their first vaccination must be provided before the start date for each class. All breeds are welcome.

For Everyday Obedience, all attendees must provide proof of a minimum C3 vaccination before the start date for each class. No puppies below the age of 6 months are allowed to attend. All breeds are welcome.
If you have a reactive or aggressive dog, depending on the severity, you may be allowed to attend under the condition that you first book a single private lesson for evaluation. If I believe the problem is too severe/puts the other dogs in class at risk, I will recommend a course of private lessons to resolve the issue before you will be allowed to attend.

Why buy a package of private lessons?

Lesson packages are designed to make private lessons cheaper for you — and to allow me, as the trainer, to design a custom training plan that will accomplish everything you desire.

With a clear plan and pre-determined number of sessions, I can lay out checkpoints and goals for each step of the process.

I decided early on that this way of doing things provided the greatest value to you, my client, and allowed me to get better results — and I still believe this is true. However, if you wish to purchase single lessons, you are of course allowed!

How do I know what option is right for my problem?

The level of progress we can make and the number of sessions we need always depends on how willing you are to get down and dirty and take it on together with me! In saying that, I’ve made a very general, ball-park guide to give you an idea.

Obedience/manners issues: Pulling on leash, jumping up, sit, down, stay, heel, minor reactivity or behavioural issues - 4-6 sessions. Alternatively, Everyday Obedience group class.

More advanced obedience/moderate behavioural issues: Off-leash recall and obedience, moderate to bad reactivity, some aggression issues - 6-8 sessions. Alternatively, Everyday Obedience group class as a foundation and 3-5 private sessions.

Without seeing the issue firsthand, this guide is obviously just an estimate — and as I work with your dog, I may decide we need more or less time; in which case, I will have a chat with you and we can decide together. I take personal pride in providing honest, accurate advice and I will not upsell you unless I truly believe you need it.

For a more accurate assessment, I always recommend booking a single private lesson as a starting point.

Where are group classes held?

Classes are held at various locations, as demand dictates.

What should I bring to my Puppy Preschool group class?

Have your puppy in a normal flat buckle collar, martingale (like a flat collar but with some constricting action) OR a harness.
All puppies are required to be on lead — this can be a six-foot lead, or a longer line or retractable lead.
If you have a crate, you can bring it along for the crate training lesson however it is not required as I will provide one.
Bring toys — whatever your puppy likes to play with at home, preferably: at least one ball and one tug toy.
Bring treats — something soft and delicious is best, cut into small pieces that your puppy can easily swallow quickly and come back for more. Kibble is fine too as long as your puppy is keen for it, but they may need a tastier treat to motivate them!
If you don’t have a treat pouch, put your treats in a Ziploc bag you can put in your pocket. And, lastly — get ready to have some puppy fun.
